Meeting Destiny by Nancy Straight

What was one of Lauren's normal night shift turned out to be the start of a very hard path. It all started that night when she felt something wasn't right as soon as she saw a suspicious man that alerted every danger alarm in her body. Somehow Lauren knew that if she didn't do anything something bad was going to happen. She knows she needs to take her friend Melissa out of harms way and she does. She tries to deal with the guy but things get out of hand. Lauren hadn't noticed what happened until her supervisor called the ambulance. It all happened so quickly. The paramedics arrived and that is when she looks into those eyes that have been in her dreams for four years. She meets her destiny, the guy who has been in her dreams for so long. Her whole life changes after that. In many good ways but also she will be face to face with evil. Lauren has to fight for her love, for her loved ones lives and for her own life. An evil being that wanted to end her life as soon as it discovered her gifts wants to kill her has been following her, watching her. He felt that she could be a threat. Lauren does not know she is in danger but soon she will. That evil has captured her so now she needs to fight. She needs to take control of her life and get her life back to the path that she was meant to follow.

It was so unfair, Lauren got a really hard life. She cant even spend a little time in peace with Max. Just when it seems everything will be ok something happens. I was so mad and sad for Paul. poor guy I really liked him. That whole chapter was killing me : (

What first caught my attention when I saw this book on Nancy's page was the title, then I read a few comments from her followers and I also couldn't resist that cover. The color of the cover is just so lovely I just had to read this book. I also knew it would be a great read and I was not wrong. It was an easy to read story, I felt I flew through the pages it had very clean originally unique plots that fell nicely with the story to make it even better. Nancy is very good at keeping me on the edge of my seat. I was going crazy when I wasn't even half way through the book lol. Truth is after I had finished reading this book I couldn't sleep I wanted to start reading "Destiny's Revenge" right away but I couldn't download it so I just downloaded the sample and read those first 30 pages then when I was done with it I couldn't sleep thinking about it. Thank goodness I was able to download it so I can keep reading to see what happens. I really am loving this story so far too just like I had enjoyed "Blood Debt" I really hope I won't have to suffer much with this second book but by the title of it I think there will be suffering.

Best Camp Counselor in the World By Mike Ronny

This book was given to me by the author Mike Ronny. Thank you Mike I really enjoyed reading this book. : )

First I want to say that Ken and little Catherine were my favorite characters. Ken is just so freaking fun and funny. He made me laugh so much at times, specially the way he was described in the book by Eddie. It made me laugh so hard. Catherine is a smart little girl and super friendly. It almost made me cry when she was saying goodbye to Eddie. She was just adorable. One of the funniest part was when Catherine and Donna were having a conversation with Eddie about relationships and them wanting him to meet their gym teacher, that whole conversation was so funny.

So the story starts with Eddie and Janie discussing Eddie's trip to Little Lobster Camp. Janie does not want Eddie to go but it would be Eddie's seventh year as a counselor and he is very excited to go again. When eddie is at the camp he meets Erika (who is not shy at all). Everything is fine for Eddie until he sees King Morrissey. A bully he knew from high school. Eddie was scared of what King would do to him if he would see him because his last encounter with king wasn't pretty and he was afraid king would want to fight him or worst, beat him up. In the end Eddie learns what matters most. He will learn to value what he has and that the one bad decision he was going to make would break one of the best things he had in his life. Funniest thing is that he learns this from the person he would least expect would help him open his eyes. He will learn that winning a contest is not as important as being appreciated and having a good impact in a kid's life. This was a fun short book that anyone will enjoy, remind one to value what one has and reflect on the things we want to do before we do them.

Her Sweetest Downfall Ophelia's Journey By Rebecca Hamilton

Goodreads Summary:

Ophelia's been successful at hiding her true identity, until the mark of the serpent appears on her neck—a death sentence, should it be seen by anyone in her town. Hiding the mark might save her from falling victim to the witch hunts of her era, but the scorching sensation it carries can’t be ignored.

When the mysterious Ethan is sent to collect her for a life of something more, she learns concealing the mark is the least of her concerns. She’s destined to do a new task—to join a dark, supernatural world and protect the future of people she may never meet.

What she doesn’t know—what she learns too late—is that her initiation won’t be complete until she kills the man who’s captured her heart

My review:

When Ophelia was first introduced into the story in the first book I had wished to read more about her. To know why she was helping Sophia so it was very awesome that Rebecca Hamilton brought us this book that told us Ophelia's journey how she got to the Maltorim and how she knew about Sophia.

The whole story was perfectly written from when Ophelia discovers the mark on her skin, getting send to deliver a letter that will never arrive to her destination because she was lured to where the music of her calling took her. To how Ophelia with the help of Ethan and Lenore managed to get her into the Maltorim to gain their trust and take her under their wing so she would be there for the day the girl she is to wait for arrives. One of the reasons why I read Rebecca Hamilton's books is because I love her writing style. It was a really easy to read story. Also a very enjoyable story with beautiful romance that in occasions made me cry but I am so very happy that nothing terrible happened because there was one moment I really thought something terrible was about to happen. I am happy happy it didn't. So yes I was very satisfied with this short but great book concentrated on Ophelia's story and can't wait to read the next book

I Love You to Death by Natalie Ward

The worst thing in the world that could happen to someone is to loose a loved one. It is something no one ever wants to think about specially if you feel whatever happened to that loved one was your fault.

Asha is just a normal girl trying to live a normal life. She wants everything everyone wants everything every person desires. A family, friends, to love, to be loved and for once just once that she won't loose those closest to her. Asha feels it is impossible to have a normal life. She has lived in fear after loosing everyone she loved specially after loosing the last person she had left, after loosing the love of her life. She feels she has nothing else left to live for. Everything changes when she finds the letter Sam had left for her. Asha still wont let anyone in she keeps to herself but no matter how much she tries to keep Luke away he will not give up because from the moment he saw her he wanted to make her happy. From the moment he saw her he never wanted to loose her.

I always enjoy a book that can really come to life. "I love you to death" did that. The characters were real, the plot perfect, nice flowing words and fantastic description of what was happening. The playlist was an AMAZING touch too. All the songs were perfect for all the chapters and of course they are all my favorite songs. It is funny cause all but 5 songs are in my iPod playlist. They just fall perfect perfect for every chapter. Really made me get the chills.

What I loved the most about this book and all the books I read is when they can make my soul fly out of my body, dance, float around and jump with happiness. The feeling that this books give me is amazing. I cannot explain at all as much as I try. But i'm sure everyone feels them too when they bump into the pages of a great book. Including the goosebumps when those certain parts come to life. Those goose bumps are one serious deal that I can only feel with reading AWESOME stories like this. A million of applause for Natalie Ward.
I have to admit that for a moment I wanted to just stop reading this book, my view was so so blurry sometimes. My eyes hurt, my head, and even my brain hurt. I couldn't make that knot in my throat go away. I have read quite a few books that make me cry in some parts but this book either made me cry of happiness or sadness but it always managed to squeeze a gazillion tears out of me. Already had expected the worst but loved the ending. "I Love you to Death" did not disappoint me. I was once again a happy reader and once again cried of happiness. A must must read and a must must re-read really recommend it. You will love this book. Just have a clenex box close by, you will need it.

Dexter in The Dark (dexter #3) by Jeff Lindsay

It is an ordinary day in the job of a blood splatter expert. Dexter is called to a crime scene when he arrives something about the crime scene forces his dark passenger go into hiding. Dexter seeks for answers, what made his dark passenger hide? Where did his dark passenger go and how could he get him to come back.
Will he have to live a simple life with-out his dark passenger?

Now I know why ShowTime didn't make the kids (Cody and Astor) as interesting in the show as they were in the book. In this third book we get to know Dexter a little more. We get to know what, where his dark passenger came from and who Dexter would be with ought his dark passenger.

What I liked the most about this 3rd book was seeing a whole new Dexter being scared of almost everything almost having some kind of feelings. It was in so many ways funnier too. I couldn't stop laughing in some parts of the book. I was a little confused though when the story started going more to the supernatural side. At first I was a little confused by that but as I kept reading I thought it was pretty good though the idea of seeing dexter stupefied by the music he heard calling him wasn't very fun (I just dont like seeing Dex defeated by anything.) Even with a few little things I wasn't totally loving I still liked the plot and enjoyed reading Dexter in the Dark. It has pretty good dark humor and really love that dexter does not make mistakes like in the show.

Delta Legend By Kelan O'connell

didn't like it it was ok liked it really liked it it was amazing (my current rating)

Calvin Pierce and his childhood friend Rashawn Fontaine successfully hot wired a Cadillac from an impound yard. With a few complications but they managed to get away. They thought they had made it with no problems but then they were stopped by a police car. Lucky for Calvin the judge let him get off easy and he decided to let Calvin's mom decide what she would do. Calvin's mom decides to send Calvin off to the Delta where he will be helping his great uncle Samuel Diggs in his repair shop. Calvin thought he would be arriving to a very boring town where nothing exciting ever happens but soon after his arrival he will discover the Delta is not as boring as he thought. He will be face to face with a very old creature who the few people that knew about it believed the stories of the creature to be folklore or simple stories told to scare children.
Better late than never! I won this ebook on Laura's blog a little while ago( quite a little while) I hadn't been making much time to read. Everyday is a busy day for me so I really haven't been reading much. But I decided since for me October means halloween I decided to finally read Delta Legend because it sounded like a good story to read around this time. It's the first time I have read a book where there has been so many important characters with very interesting stories and background. So I cannot decide who was my favorite character because all of them were interestingly fun. Though Calvin Mei Li and Jess made me laugh a whole lot more Burt, Gladys and Ray were very fun characters.
I love the water when I was little my mother had a hard time keeping me away from the water. I was always sneaking out and the place where my mother will always find me at was at the river that was a block away from my house lol. I still love the water but I have read so many books, heard stories and now I am a little scared of getting inside rivers or things like that. Freaks me out a little to think about what might be deep inside the water. Doesn't stop me from getting in the water but I will not get far in lol. After reading this book I'm very scared I will always be thinking about this creature when I see water. To me the scariest thing was when Calvin was in the water and he had no idea the creature was in there. For a moment I thought he was going to get eaten.
Delta legend will keep one in the edge of one's sit, it engrosses you in the story, it is easy to read, it is entertaining, will be hard to put down, has realistic characters each perfectly introduced in a few pages with entertaining stories, it will make you laugh, neatly put together and neatly written a really fun fun read. I give it five stars. A GOOD READ.
Thank you Kelan and Laura for the giveaway I am happy I won this book and to finally get to read it. : ) great job with this interesting story Kelan O'connell.

Dearly Devoted Dexter By Jeff Lindsay

didn't like it it was ok liked it really liked it (my current rating)

Goodreads summary:

He's a charming monster... A macabre hero... A serial killler who only kills bad people.Dexter Morgan has been under considerable pressure. It's just not easy being an ethical serial killer - especially while trying to avoid the unshakable suspicions of the dangerous Sergeant Doakes (who believes Dexter is a homicidal maniac...which, of course, he is). In an attempt to throw Doakes off his trail, Dexter has had to slip deep into his foolproof disguise. While not working as a blood-spatter analyst for the Miami Police Department, he now spends nearly all his time with his cheerful girlfriend, Rita, and her two children, sipping light beer and slowly becoming the world's first serial couch potato. But how long can Dexter play Kick the Can instead of Slice the Slasher? How long before his Dark Passenger forces him to drop the charade and let his inner monster run free?

In trying times, opportunity knocks. A particularly nasty psychopath is cutting a trail through Miami - a man whose twisted technique leaves even Dexter speechless. As Dexter's dark appetite is revived, his sister, Deborah (a newly minted, tough-as-nails Miami detective), is drawn headlong into the case. It quickly becomes clear that it will take a monster to catch a monster - but it isn't until his archnemesis is abducted that Dex can finally throw himself into the search for a new plaything. Unless, of course, his plaything finds him first...

With the incredible wit and freshness that drew widespread acclaim to Darkly Dreaming Dexter, Jeff Lindsay now takes Dexter Morgan to a new level of macabre appeal and gives us one of the most original, colorful narrators in years.

My review:

I cannot say which was more terryfying. Well truth is I can. What happened to Doakes in this book compared to what happened to him in the TV show was by far the worst way for Dex to get rid of him. What I don't know is which I liked more. the more I read the more I could not compare the show to this second book of the series book. This is truly the first book that I cannot argue or be disappointed in any way they are both different in their own unique way and I like that from both of the 2 books I've read and the TV show.
